Going the quickie route this time around. Sorry about that.
- So after defeating the crocodile Lord, Boxxo falls through the ground and ends up in a labyrinth. Technically, the labyrinth is underground but there’s sunlight so go figure on that.
- Boxxo spamming balloons and turning himself into callboard to slow his descent is the kind of stupid stuff I like to see in this show.
- I like how Boxxo can give himself new forms and upgrades and the poor guy still can’t upgrade his voice system. If this is intentional, it’s a really good gag.
- The coin left by the Lord apparently does squat. It’s the equivalent of an amusement park token. That’s so anticlimactic but also really funny.
- Since there’s no customers in the labyrinth, Boxxo purchases solar panels for himself. Kind of funny that this is not his first environmentally friendly ability. That honor goes to his ability to magically remove trash.
- For this episode, Boxxo meets a new adventurer’s group, Band of Gluttons. The team consists of its leader Mikenne (Rena Maeda), Suco (Shiori Izawa), Pell (Yu Serizawa), and Short (Sora Tokui).
- If Lammis ever thinks she’s dumb, someone should tell her that she understands Boxxo way better than these four anthropomorphic adventurers.
- The best joke in this episode is Band of Gluttons jumping to the conclusion that he is a mere object. They don’t realize he’s sentient until Lammis and co. arrive. Honestly, if Lammis didn’t guess right and explained who Boxxo is to everyone she meets, you’d think that’d be the conclusion the average person would make.
- To my disbelief, this episode introduces a giant, flaming, skeleton that lurks around the labyrinth and it only shows up for one scene. That boss better show up again.
- Honestly, I’m surprised Boxxo didn’t bust out the Coca Cola bottles and Mentos packs to fight that skeleton.
- Lammis manages to hit something?! Color me surprised.
- Boxxo slowing himself down as Band of Gluttons run into Lammis is hilarious. He knows as soon he reunites with her, it’s a world of hurt.
- Frankly, Lammis feels underutilized these past couple of episodes. She’s offscreen when Boxxo needs to be rescued and she barely gets a chance to have a cool action scene. Give the spotlight back to this poor girl!
