I’m posting this announcement very early as I most likely won’t begin fulfilling it until late May. However, I want to post it now on the off chance that I can begin after the Spring 2024 premieres and during my vacation next month.
To put it mildly, Poll #3 didn’t go exactly as planned and at this point, I’ve come to the conclusion that this endeavor isn’t really worth pursuing. That said, I would like to end the episode review polls on a far less bitter note. As I begin phasing out my episode review backlog, I’m finally here to do a fourth and possibly final poll on Twitter/X. This poll ends on Sunday, March 31. You will most likely need a Twitter/X account in order to vote.
No real theme to any of these picks (not intentionally, I mean), though I did make sure one of the shows was from Spring 2021 in light of that season’s catch-up never happening. I also wanted to include Mobile Suit Gundam: Witch from Mercury as a close friend of mine really wants me to watch it and an idea I once had is to hold a poll entirely comprised of that friend’s recommendations (I may have gotten a bunch over the years…and I may have been sleeping on them…).
Now, some things to note:
- In the event of a tie, I myself will act as the tiebreaker. Whichever show is more popular on MyAnimelist gets my vote.
- This poll is a full cour/season commitment. Even if I’m not digging the winner, I will cover the entire first cour/season. Past that, there is no guarantee but I will go further if I like the show enough (and this has so far been the case with past poll winners).
- In the event that this poll garners no votes…I don’t know. I’ll have to think about that. I’m fine if turnout ends up being low (it was low for the first three polls), I just hope someone will vote!
- Seeing as this poll might be the last one and I did not cover the 2nd place winner of the third poll like I did with the first poll, I am open to covering the runner-up of Poll #4 in addition to the winner. Do not expect me to go through this however. I make no promises in this regard.
- If Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury wins and I end up covering the whole series, know that this doesn’t necessarily open the door for me to cover other Gundam series in episode reviews. It’s possible but there is also hundreds of Gundam episodes. For reference, I’ve done 118 episode reviews for Love Live! and that took a little over a year for me to accomplish. I can’t imagine how long the entire Gundam franchise would take.
