Time for an update and some reflections. I’m just going to go over my plan for the anime episode reviews this time around. I don’t have having anything new to say about other stuff such as the screencap housekeeping and the anime archive.

Scheduling can of course change, depending on what’s going on in my end.
The Summer season has started so I’ll be spending the next thirteen days to get through the vast majority of premieres and writing as many First Impressions as I can. Even though I am on vacation right now, I’m sticking with the two seasonal show quota from last season. I go back to my day job at the end of August so covering a third show during September wouldn’t work out too well. No guarantee but the shows temping me the most are Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, ATRI, My Deer Friend Nokotan, and Days with My Stepsister (that last one is admittedly more of a joke pick).
Ended up re-reviewing Revue Starlight after all, before I get to the OVAs and movies. I would’ve liked to be done with the re-reviews by now but I underestimated how substantial the rewriting would get and that made me exhausted. Having some early premieres put things on hold as well. As mentioned in last month’s post, the deadline for Revue Starlight is by the end of August but I might be able to pull it off this month. We’ll see. I may have to skip the All Starlight shorts but to be fair, they’re not strictly canon to the original show so if I have to save it for later, then so be it.
Obviously, I made almost no progress with Witch from Mercury and I apologize for that. I ended up taking things easy when my vacation started and I got preoccupied with Revue Starlight. Honestly, this is one of the reasons why the polls failed. I have a very bad habit of putting them off for other shows. I’m still committed to covering the first season and I’m hoping as I get Revue Starlight sorted out, I can finally make some actual progress.
Backlog:
- Princess Principal: Crown Handler w/OVAs – /3 movies; /3 OVAs
- Rascal Does Not Dream of Knapsack Kid – /1 movie
- Revue Starlight OVAs and Movies – /3 OVAs; /2 movies
- Violet Evergarden movies – /2 movies.
Would like to be done with the latter two series by the end of August. I just need to figure out where to schedule in Violet Evergarden.
Last season, I partly reviewed Kaiju No. 8 and Go! Go! Loser Ranger! and it turns out that both shows will be returning in some fashion. There’s also Whisper Me a Love Song, which is apparently on hold due to production issues. I’m not opposed to coming back any of these shows but my priority right now are the current stragglers in the list.
