Time for an update and some reflections.

Scheduling can of course change, depending on what’s going on in my end.
Gonna have to watch and write about Makeine on the same day. I really liked giving myself an extra day or more with Laid-Back Camp and Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night so this will take some getting used to. My Deer Friend Nokotan is a little weird as, in Japan, it airs early on Wednesday on ABEMA but the simulcast is on Sundays. I have watching fansubs before the simulcast, it just works better for me timewise, but I plan on blogging about the show on Sunday to stay in line with the simulcast.
Thought I could be done with Revue Starlight in July but obviously, I’m running behind on the series. I am glad to get through the redoes before the end of the month, though. I still need to go back to my Eps. 8-10 reviews and add in my two cents on the music. I admit that was dumb on my part; I’m hoping to correct that this weekend. There’s also screencaps but what else is new with this blog? I imagine the OVAs and Rondo Rondo Rondo will be a lot easier to write about. The movie sequel I’m much more worried about so I might give myself a lot of time to cover that.
Revue Starlight is probably the last full redo. I love the show enough to re-review the whole thing and it was worthwhile and fun to do but it’s also been exhausting. I mentioned a year ago that I was thinking of re-reviewing select episodes of other anime (because they weren’t cover individually). If I do more redoes, that might be my approach going forward.
As for Witch from Mercury, I should be able to resume and finish covering that show this month. Apologies for putting that show on hold. Once again, this is just for Season 1. I’ll decide on Season 2 after I’m done.
Backlog:
- Princess Principal: Crown Handler w/OVAs – /3 movies; /3 OVAs
- Rascal Does Not Dream of Knapsack Kid – /1 movie
- Violet Evergarden movies – /2 movies.
Not a lot left right now. Can you tell I’m phasing this initiative out? As I said before, August is the last month where I’m actively tackling the backlog. Still want to get the Violet Evergarden movies out of the way this month, especially since it’s just two movies, but I already have Revue Starlight and Witch from Mercury to worry about so we’ll see.
As I’ve said in previous announcement posts, there are some shows that I could add to the list. I might go over where I stand on them in a separate post. I’d write it here but then, this post gets a lot longer and I might have to repeat what I wrote in the next regular update. Writing it separately makes more sense to me.
