Following a mission, Fuki (Maki Kawase) and Sakura (Makoto Koichi) decide to rest at LycoReco. Technically, the cafe is a DA facility so I can see plenty of other Lycoris using it as a pit stop. Naturally, Chisato takes this rare opportunity to turn the visit into a slumber party. Honestly, it’s kind of weird seeing Fuki and Sakura be buddy-buddy with Chisato and Takina. I don’t recall either team being on such friendly terms, even after the main show’s season finale. Then again, Chisato is a pretty chill girl and I can see Fuki wanting to hang around LycoReco as she has either a crush or a ton of respect for Mika.
During the party, Chisato lets Sakura try on her Lycoris uniform. I don’t remember if I mentioned it before but the red and blue uniforms do denote different ranks. Red is for “First” Lycoris agents such as Chisato and Fuki while blue is for “Second” agents such as Takina and Sakura. It’s very plausible that that Seconds would dream of wearing the red uniform one day. That just seems like a natural thing for them to want and this is admittedly my own bias but red is cooler than blue.
While everyone’s asleep, Takina decides to try Chisato’s uniform herself. Given Takina’s ambition early on in the show, it’s not actually that surprising that she too is envious of the Firsts’ uniform. But given her character development, it’s rather adorable that she still wants to try the outfit on. To be fair, she does rock the color red quite well. Should Lycoris Recoil truly come to an end, I’d like to see Takina earn the uniform in earnest. Sakura soon catches Takina red-handed (pun intended), resulting in the latter tying her up with one of Chisato’s specialized guns and tricking Chisato and Fuki into thinking there’s a burglar in the cafe. Chisato and Fuki buying the alibi is funny enough but I’m especially amused at how quickly Takina changes back to her uniform and slips back to her old, murderous ways.
