Time for an update and some reflections. As always, nothing is entirely set in stone and everything here is subject to change.
Didn’t achieve as much as I wanted for the blog last month. I ended up wanting to take things slow and alternate between anime blogging and playing a couple of the video games I might review for the blog. I now have more on my plate for this month and August but hopefully, I’ll manage.
Anime Episode Reviews
First Impressions Schedule:
- Thu, Jul 3 – Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon
- Sun, 7/6 – Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus
- Mon, 7/7 – The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity
- Tue, 7/8 – CITY THE ANIMATION
- Wed, 7/9 – Turkey! Time to Strike
New season so Jul 1-11 will be reserved for binging through all the different premieres. I already have some anime locked in for coverage but eh, I’m willing to write a couple extra First Impressions this season. Like with Spring, I decided to jot down what to cover ahead of time though since I’m on break, there’s room to add more than what’s listed above.
Currently Covering:
- Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon (Season 2) – /TBD (Saturdays)
- Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus – /TBD (Sundays)
- Kaiju No. 8 (Season 2) – /TBD (Mondays)
- Ave Mujica -The Die is Cast- – 4/13 eps. (whenever)
I’ve stuck to a rule of two seasonal anime for some time now so having three returning anime complicates things a little. My plan at first is to ditch Reborn as a Vending Machine and stick with Rascal and Kaiju No. 8 but the latter two are both airing on Saturdays. Therefore, picking one of them and Reborn as a Vending Machine works better in terms of scheduling. I’ll tackle as much of Kaiju Season 2 as I can while I’m on break but I can’t promise I’ll cover the entire season.
Didn’t cover as much of Ave Mujica last month as I wanted. I was aiming for at least 7 episodes, if not the whole show. To be fair, this show is getting pretty darn wild so I didn’t mind taking a break after Episode 4. Should hopefully be done with the show this month. I’m still entertaining the thought of covering OG Bandori afterwards but one thing at a time.
Backlog:
- Girls’ Last Tour – /12 eps. (whenever)
- The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady – /12 eps. (whenever)
- Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX – 6/12 eps. ( ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
- Violet Evergarden – /2 movies (monthly or ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Probably will at least finish Girls’ Last Tour this month. Normally, I’d restart from the beginning, re-editing and re-dating what I’ve previously written. However, since this season will be the last major push with the backlog, I am thinking of resuming where I left off to speed things up. Maybe I’ll link to my previous posts in the first new one to prevent any confusion (it has been a long time since I last covered Girls’ Last Tour after all).
Since I didn’t finish GQuuuuuuX in time before the premieres, I have it listed in the backlog. I’d like to come back to it after the premieres but I have thought about throwing in the towel and writing a series review. Apparently, this show gets rushed and confusing in the second half. I don’t know, we’ll see how the cookie crumbles. After GQuuuuuuX, I’d like to finish my Cosmic Era experience with SEED Freedom and try another TV show. I’m currently deciding between After War, 00, AGE (yeah, I know), and IBO.
