Here Lies My Hopes and Dreams for the Blog – October 2025 Edition

Blogging didn’t really go as planned (sorry about that) so it’s been a while since I last wrote an update post. With a new anime season, I figure I should write something, even if it’s not the most concrete plans. As always, nothing is entirely set in stone and everything here is subject to change.

Anime Episode Reviews

First Impressions Schedule:

• Mon, Oct 13 – TBD

Only have the dates set. I confess that I didn’t look deeply into the seasonal chart so I’m going in super dark this time around. Kind of exciting, to be fair. I want to give the premieres a whirl like I usually do but honestly, I’m currently leaning towards spending Fall 2025 as a “catchup” season, where I try to make the big final push with the backlog that I wanted to do during the summer. Speaking of which…

Backlog:

• Ave Mujica -The Die is Cast- – 4/13 eps. ( ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
• Kaiju No. 8 (Season 2) – 9/11 eps. (finishing this month)
• Reborn as a Vending, I Now Wander the Dungeon (Season 2) – 8/12 eps. (finishing this month)
• Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus – 1/13 eps. ( ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
• Violet Evergarden -/2 movies (November and December)

Didn’t finish any of the Summer 2025 anime I picked for episode reviews so that’s why the backlog is looking longer this time around. Not 100% confident but I think I can finish blogging about Kaiju No. 8 and Vending Machine this month. If Fall ends up being a catchup season, I definitely should be able to cross those shows off the list. Rascal will take longer but for the sake of being cheeky, I hope to finish blogging about it before Christmas. If you’re wondering why that was put on hold, it simply is because Kaiju No. 8 and Vending Machine fit my schedule better (at least it did until blogging went awry anyway).

I’d like to be done with Ave Mujica around the same time as Rascal. I now don’t know if I’ll cover OG Bandori in episode reviews but to be fair, it’s only hard to say since I’ve been stuck with Ave Mujica.

Pulled Girls’ Last Tour and Magical Revolution out for now. I don’t think I should commit to them until I get the more topical shows sorted out. That said, I’m down to finish covering those shows if I’m playing catchup this season.

Did manage to finish GQuuuuuuX at the end of August. I wouldn’t mind writing an addendum or a revised version of my episode reviews after I’m way more familiar with UC Gundam but that’s probably way out in the future and it might not happen anyway. If anyone wants to know, I started IBO after GQuuuuuuX to catch up for the Urdr Hunt movie. I’d like to write a series review for each season. I might tackle 00 after that. I’ve actually thought about writing episode reviews for 00 since it’s apparently coming back and I could write 51 posts by the time that sequel project is out. That said, 51 posts is still 51 posts and that sequel was announced in 2018 so who knows what the status is on it now.

Video Game Reviews

I confess that I got super sidetracked with some other games these past couple of months so the reviews I plan on writing haven’t pan out yet. Figured I should trim the priority list in light of that. I already beat the Gears campaign (it’s obviously way shorter than a lot of the games I’ve been playing) so really, I just to find the time to play some more multiplayer and finish my draft for it.
