Time for an update and some reflections; first one for the year. Very short post this time around. As always, nothing is entirely set in stone and everything here is subject to change.

January is the start of a new anime season so I am going to spend the first 14 days of the month trying out premieres. That said, I am currently leaning towards mostly taking this season off from covering seasonal anime. I’d like to instead spend this season to make significant progress with the screencaps, do maintenance on the Anime Archive, and finish the backlog once and for all. I just have the Princess Principal and Violet Evergarden movies left to cover in episode reviews but there’s also some anime that I stopped covering and would like to finish them with series reviews. I’m not entirely set on this because again, something this Winter might surprise me so I may as well test the waters first. The one drawback of taking the season is that I’ll need to think of other material to compensate. Aside from series reviews, I’ve been thinking of finally covering the manga source material for anime that I’ve covered in the past or reviewing other stuff in the meantime.
I was cutting it close with some series during December but it was nice getting to the second Quintessential Quintuplets special and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid in addition to Love Live! and Witch from Mercury. I really wanted to re-edit my Revue Starlight Movie post as well. I had to skip over some things for the sake pf time and I’ve been meaning to rectify that. Maybe I can sit through the movie again and finally do the re-edit during this season. After the movie, I plan on playing the El Dorado visual novel; if it’s canon to the anime, I might actually cover that in an episode review as well.
