Room Camp – Ep. 7

Tragedy strikes as Nadeshiko finds herself without her beloved stamp sheet. The club search for it but to no avail. Must such misfortune befall such an innocent girl?

In all seriousness, I didn’t think this scenario would actually happen. With seven more stamps to go and with one less episode to work with, putting the rally to a halt is a little risky in terms of pacing. But sure enough, the sheet is currently M.I.A. and pacing concerns aside, this change of events does make me a little bummed out that it’ll take a little longer to see more of Yamanashi.

You know what the best part is? The ED is actually updated again with an empty table and no stamp sheet. Wow. I applaud the commitment to continuity but that really makes me feel Nadeshiko’s dejection.

At least Chiaki and Aoi are here to cheer Nadeshiko up. Everyone crashes at Chiaki’s place for some houtou, complete with some culinary/cultural banter between Chiaki and Aoi. I like that they both refrain from bringing up the stamp sheet and just let Nadeshiko enjoy the food. Sure it’s not the end of the world that the sheet is gone (unless it costed the gang money…) but experiences like those are always going to mean a lot to Nadeshiko so the sensitivity expressed here is appreciated.

Hopefully, we don’t have to wait too long to see the rally resume. The sheet eventually gets found by the narrator — I mean, Rin’s grandfather. I would say it’d make more sense to have Rin drive by and pick it up but it’s likely her grandpa will hand the sheet over to her and Rin can easily infer that it belongs to Nadeshiko. Whatever happens, please involve Rin in the story again. Please.
